Recently, the 5 Ton Per Hour (TPH) Aluminum Ash Briquetting Production Line tailor-made by E.P Machinery (hereinafter referred to as “EP Machinery”) for a Thai customer has successfully completed equipment installation, system commissioning, and has been officially put into operation.
Taking aluminum ash as the core raw material, the project adopts EP Machinery’s independently developed high-pressure briquetting machine (aluminum ash briquette machine) as the core equipment. The customer is a well-known aluminum products processing enterprise in Thailand and has long faced the following challenges:

• Low aluminum ash recycling efficiency
• High storage and transportation costs
• Increasing pressure from environmental compliance

As an industrial by-product generated during aluminum processing, direct stockpiling of aluminum ash not only occupies large amounts of space but also easily causes dust pollution. Traditional treatment methods are often unable to achieve efficient resource utilization, resulting in serious waste of valuable materials.

The customer clearly required the construction of a 5 TPH aluminum ash briquetting production line to meet the dual goals of environmental compliance and resource utilization.

In-Depth Raw Material Analysis to Develop a Dedicated Process Solution

After receiving the project requirements, EP Machinery quickly established a dedicated technical team to conduct systematic and comprehensive physical and chemical analyses of the aluminum ash provided by the customer, focusing on:

• Particle size distribution
• Moisture content
• Flowability
• Forming and compressive strength requirements

The test results showed that this batch of aluminum ash is characterized by low bonding ability, easy dispersion, and high forming difficulty. In response to this key technical challenge, EP Machinery’s technical team abandoned conventional standardized solutions. Through multiple formulation tests and equipment parameter optimizations, they ultimately determined an integrated production line configuration of:

“Pretreatment System + High-Pressure Briquetting Main Machine + Finished Product Screening System.”

Upgraded Core Equipment, Comprehensive Performance Compliance

As the core equipment of the entire production line, the aluminum ash briquetting machine (high-pressure briquetting machine) underwent multiple targeted customized upgrades:

• Adoption of double-roller synchronous extrusion technology for higher forming stability
• Roller shells made of high wear-resistant alloy material with special heat treatment, extending service life by more than 30% compared with conventional equipment
• Forming pressure can be steplessly adjusted from 0 to 200 MPa according to aluminum ash characteristics

Under these configurations, the finished briquettes consistently achieved the following performance indicators:

• Briquette density: ≥ 1.8 g/cm³
• Drop strength: ≥ 95%

These results fully meet the customer’s requirements for subsequent storage, transportation, and secondary utilization.

In addition, the entire production line is equipped with an intelligent control system capable of real-time monitoring of equipment operating status, production output, and finished product qualification rate, enabling automated operation and intelligent maintenance while significantly reducing labor costs.
